Every day we play with a creative challenge. What we create doesn’t have to be grand. It doesn’t have to be perfect. We aim to stretch our creative muscles, be playful, and have fun!
Every day we take a little journey with some unexpected turns. That’s the beauty of creativity. If you just let it, it will fill you with wonder.
The Challenge
Our creative challenge today is made of the following set. If you are familiar with the creomondi building blocks, use the set to explore, imagine, and create. Alternatively, read how we played with it for inspiration first.
The Playground We Will Explore
The Seed We Will Use in our Exploration
And We Are Aiming to Create…
Let’s Play
Our game today begins with exploring anywhere you might be. This is the most generic Playground designed to practice creative exploration wherever you go. All you have to do is to look around you mindfully and using all your senses.
When I started to play today, I was at home. I’ve picked the exploration Seed Houdini and began to look around me for inspiration. In my bedroom, I found our closet mirror. Obviously, it wasn’t a surprise. I see it every day, but I never thought of it as inspiration. But today, with the Houdini Seed in mind, a magical fusion was created. Suddenly, the mirror became a prop in a magic show. In my mind, mirrors and magic became closely related. I thought that mirrors were used intensively in magic tricks. I didn’t know if that was really true, but obviously, this was not the point. It was the association that mattered, and I just found the inspiration for today’s creation.
Today, we aim to create a Photo Series inspired by our creative exploration. With the revelation that mirrors can create magical illusions, I decided to create five photos using a mirror to enhance the composition.
The cool thing about the next step was that I didn’t have to change my plans for the day to do it. I found a small mirror and carried it with me wherever I went. I had to observe mindfully again in search of opportunities for cool, relevant scenes. Apart from that, I just went on with my schedule. Whenever I saw something I could imagine as part of the series, I stopped for a few minutes to create the right composition and take a photograph. So, today’s game was my companion throughout the day. It helped me embed the entire day with creative fun.
Now, It Is Your Turn…
Don’t follow my steps! Take the set of cards and play with them. Use them as a guide and not as a set of rules. Let your imagination lead the way. Don’t dismiss your ideas.
Have fun! Be creative!
