Daily Creativity #0011

Every day we play with a creative challenge. What we create doesn’t have to be grand. It doesn’t have to be perfect. We aim to stretch our creative muscles, be playful, and have fun!

Every day we take a little journey with some unexpected turns. That’s the beauty of creativity. If you just let it, it will fill you with wonder.

The Challenge

Our creative challenge today is made of the following set. If you are familiar with the creomondi building blocks, use the set to explore, imagine, and create. Alternatively, read how we played with it for inspiration first.

The Playground We Will Explore

The Seed We Will Use in our Exploration

And We Are Aiming to Create…

How About Adding a Constraint?

Let’s Play

Let’s start at the end. Today, our mission is to imagine a legendary creature and create a sculpture, a collage, or a drawing of it. We are using a Seed as a lead, and we will look for ideas by practicing creative exploration.

Our Seed today is Mercury, which is both a planet and an element. My first association was of the silvery material, and with that in mind, I’ve started to explore. It was a cloudy day, and the sky was completely gray. I knew I will use them as part of my creation. Then, I found a small mirror, which I naturally connected with Mercury. It was a perfect companion to the gray. At that point, I formed a vision of the creature I was about to create. I was missing a body, though, which called for an active search for something that could fit the creature I’ve imagined.

And this is my Mercury Monster…

You might notice that today we’ve also added a Constraint to the game set. As my Mercury Monster seemed to be in perfect focus, I decided to apply the constraint by merely moving my monster’s pupils a bit. So, while it is in focus, my creature probably has a blurry view of the world 🙂

Now, It Is Your Turn…

Don’t follow my steps! Take the set of cards and play with them. Use them as a guide and not as a set of rules. Let your imagination lead the way. Don’t dismiss your ideas.

Have fun! Be creative!
