Every day we play with a creative challenge. What we create doesn’t have to be grand. It doesn’t have to be perfect. We aim to stretch our creative muscles, be playful, and have fun!
Every day we take a little journey with some unexpected turns. That’s the beauty of creativity. If you just let it, it will fill you with wonder.
The Challenge
Our creative challenge today is made of the following set. If you are familiar with the creomondi building blocks, use the set to explore, imagine, and create. Alternatively, read how we played with it for inspiration first.
The Playground We Will Explore
The Seed We Will Use in our Exploration
And We Are Aiming to Create…
Let’s Play
Today, we are playing in a special Playground. We seek inspiration in a fiction book. You could use the book you are currently reading or one you’ve read in the past. And the Seed we use for association and fusion is Steering.
I’m currently reading the latest book by Fredrik Backman, Anxious People. I’m still in the first quarter, so there’s no risk of spoilers, but when I saw the Seed in today’s set, I immediately thought about one of the characters who seem to have made some poor choices in life. However, these choices didn’t seem like bad choices at the time. He honestly tried to make the right choice in every junction in his life.
And with that insight, I envisioned a Superhero. Imagine a person who has the power to always make the right decision. It’s nothing like seeing the future, but just knowing what the best next move should be, much like you are trying to do when you play Chess. It seems like a powerful capability until you realize it has a weakness. Unlike Chess, in life, nothing is absolute. The best move naturally depends on your goal. The best move for someone is not necessarily a good move for someone else — someone who you might care about. Our superhero can only see one such best step at a time, and he has to think of a specific goal to see the best move in his mind. It can be a powerful capability, but it can also be a tragedy.
I think I will call him Game Changer.
Now, It Is Your Turn…
Don’t follow my steps! Take the set of cards and play with them. Use them as a guide and not as a set of rules. Let your imagination lead the way. Don’t dismiss your ideas.
Have fun! Be creative!
