Daily Creativity #0017

Every day we play with a creative challenge. What we create doesn’t have to be grand. It doesn’t have to be perfect. We aim to stretch our creative muscles, be playful, and have fun!

Every day we take a little journey with some unexpected turns. That’s the beauty of creativity. If you just let it, it will fill you with wonder.

The Challenge

Our creative challenge today is made of the following set. If you are familiar with the creomondi building blocks, use the set to explore, imagine, and create. Alternatively, read how we played with it for inspiration first.

Let’s Start with Experiencing Something

Now, Let’s Create…

Let’s Play

Today, we are going to experience. Our experiences provide infinite ingredients for Creativity. And so, we will start with an experience, and use what we see, sense, and feel as inspiration for our creation.

The Experience we will use today is flying a kite. Sounds trivial until you realize that most of us don’t have a chance to engage in this activity. And even if we do, it is often for our children. Let’s try to experience this first hand and fully immerse ourselves in it.

I have to admit that I’ve hand-picked the Insight Type for today’s challenge because I enjoyed so much writing the previous experience-based children story. Here’s my creation for today:

I take my kite to the park
and give it a try.
I want to see it
high in the sky.

In a matter of seconds
the wind starts to pull.
I release some string
my heart becomes full.

The higher it gets
the more I hang on.
It wants to break free
but then it will be gone.

I can barely see it
but I know it is there.
I will keep it safe
as it plays in midair.

If the rain starts to fall
and it feels sad and alone,
with an invisible string
I’ll bring my kite back home.

Now, It Is Your Turn…

Don’t follow my steps! Take the set of cards and play with them. Use them as a guide and not as a set of rules. Let your imagination lead the way. Don’t dismiss your ideas.

Have fun! Be creative!
