the challenge
Today we are looking for cornerstones whether they are physical or metaphorical.
Let’s explore!
my insight
This minimalist Insight seems to be a one-to-one literal interpretation of the title of the Seed. This out-of-context fragment of a building is made of stone and it forms a corner, obviously.
At the same time, it is the complete opposite of a real cornerstone. Instead of something strong and solid placed at the most important location of the structure, this artifact is merely a decoration. It has no clear function, and it looks quite gentle. It includes a significant area of negative space with absent material. And that’s exactly what makes it interesting both as is and when coupled with the title: Cornerstone.
reflection
What I love most about the Insight above is this dance my brain has done from the title of the Seed to this result and what’s in it.
It started with a literal breakdown of the title into two distinct words. Following that, I found an Insight, which in turn proved to be an inverted Insight — it shows the exact opposite of what the title of the Seed really means. And that’s exactly what makes this combination great.
mental notes
- Let your brain dance and make unexpected leaps even if they seem absurd at times.
